Q & A Roundup: March 2019

Updated: Apr 8, 2019

Have any beauty/life/career questions for me?

Thank you to everyone that's submitted!

Here are my top 10 questions from March :)

"Your SPF 101 post is my BIBLE! Will you be making any new product recommendations soon? I'd love to see what you'd recommend before I get new spf for summer! Thanks!" - Kelly G.

Kelly!! Thank you so much! I couldn't wait to share it with you guys. And yes! I will definitely keep updating it as I find more and more products I love in price points I also love ;) My 2019 picks will be coming soon.

Thank you for the love and support! xx

"I am in a major skin crisis! My skin keeps breaking out and its starting to make me not want to be social. I can't seem to get it under control. Any advice? Your skin always looks like a porcelain dolls..please spill the secrets! Thanks Morgan!" - Taylor G.

Hi Taylor! I think we kind of have an expectation that once we get to our late 20s/early 30s, we should be past all that but it's ok to not be! I struggle with my skin all the time! If you can, I would recommend visiting a dermatologist. If that isn't in the budget, using a cleanser in the AM & PM that is non comedogenic and has a salicylic acid in it will really help. Spot treatments or lotions with benzoyl peroxide will also help to treat any blemishes and help prevent new ones from coming out. If the problem is still persisting, I would ask your Dr to test your hormones to see if that is whats causing the problem. I actually have a hormone imbalance that makes me break out from time to time but at the end of the day, you can't let that shit stop you ok?! You still bring the same amount to the table, blemish or no blemish, so keep doing you girl! xo

"What's your favorite part about makeup?" - Angela C.

Hi Angela! My favorite part is how it correlates to confidence and self esteem. Makeup can seem so vain but the part that always intrigued me, even as a young girl, was how it made people feel. Ultimately, I think thats why people wear it! We like the way it makes us look and in turn, how it makes us feel. I swear a red lip makes me walk a little taller ;) xx

"Hi Morgan Marie! Do you have any universal beauty advice or truths that you like to share with clients/friends?" - Erin W.

Hi Erin! Thanks so much for your question. I feel like I'm always saying to feel comfortable and confident. Of course, sometimes, we need to step out of our comfort zone but to me, there's nothing more beautiful than confidence. We all deserve to feel comfortable in our own skin and I really believe that confident women empower other women as well. We're also all unique in our own ways so to remember that what makes us different is what also

makes us unique and special and to really embrace that. xx

"Could you do a post about natural deodorants? I keep hearing about people making the switch but I wouldn't even know where to start. Thanks very much!" - Jean W.

Hi Jean! I can for sure do that! I have been getting a lot of messages about natural deodorants as well so I'll work on it and keep you posted :) Thanks!

"Is Morgan Marie your real name or is it like a stage name?" - Elisabeth B.

Hi Elisabeth! The best answer is a little bit of both! Morgan is my real first name but my actual middle name is Elizabeth. Im often referred to or credited as Morgan Marie though and have clients that call me that as well, so it has become a bit of a stage name too.

"Fellow makeup artist here! You do the best skin of anyone I've ever seen. Any advice for learning how to really master skin? And on other ethnicities as well?" - Rachel G.

Thank you so much for your kind words. My advice is to keep practicing! Practice as much as you can and on as many people as you can. When I first started my makeup career, it was in a Nordstrom cosmetic department when I was 16 and I really believe it was the best launching pad for me because I was able to practice on every skin type, texture and color. If there is ever a situation where you're unsure of something, it is always ok to ask. We're all human and at the end of the day, the most important thing is that the client feels like the best version of themselves! xx

"If you could do any celebrity's makeup (past or present), who would it be?" - Sophie G.

Hi Sophie! These 3 came to mind and funnily enough, they all have pretty iconic "signature" beauty looks...

-Stevie Nicks (this should surprise no one lol)

-Marilyn Monroe

-Carrie Fisher

"Are you available for travel?" - Chloe R.

Hi Chloe! Yes! I am always available to travel :)

"I live in a super dry climate and my skin is not happy about it! Need help!" - Camille E.

Well hello there Camille! Here are a few of my favorite things for dry skin ;)

PS - this guy is also a life saver!
