Q & A Roundup: June 2019

Have any beauty/life/career questions for me?

Thank you to everyone that's submitted!

Here are my top 10 questions from June :)

"Do you get your eyebrows microbladed?" - Monika B.

Hi Monika! I don't...I get them threaded every 2-3 weeks at a place in the western suburbs called Rivaz.

"Favorite foundations for fair skin?" - Mari C.

For color options, I of course love my Morgan Marie foundations :)

I also love NARS and for a drugstore option, I love the Loreal Infallible Pro Glow foundation!

"What do you think of eyelash extensions? Are they worth it to get before my wedding?" - Cecile H.

My honest opinion is I go back and forth. I personally haven't had them and it's honestly because I've seen so many bad ones. They're also a little bit high maintenance for me and I'd prefer to just glue on a set of lashes if and when I wanted them. Having said that though, I do have some clients that love them so I think it's really a personal preference.

"Do you do anything to your lips? I want mine to look fuller !" - Kaitlyn L.

Hi Kaitlyn! I don't augment them at all. Sometimes I like to do a lip liner! Other times, I don't..kind of just depends on my mood! I also make a little DIY lip scrub about once a week to make sure my lips are smooth since I wear lipstick on the regular.

"How do you feel about botox? Do you do it? Whats a good age to do it? Would love your general thoughts." - Brittany K.

Hi Brittany!

I haven't had botox but do have a handful of friends who have started getting it. Some of them have done it because they had deep-set lines and others have done it as a prevention measure. I don't necessarily know if I think there's a right age to do it. I kind of feel like if it's something that you want to do and it sets your soul on fire, do it! It hasn't been around a super long time so I do wonder about the long term effects of starting it in your 20's and continuing it for decades and what that would look like. Kind of like the eyelash extensions, I go back and forth. Different strokes for different folks and no right or wrong answer...just do whatever makes you feel your most comfortable and confident!

"What was one of the biggest surprises you encountered when starting your own company?" - Michelle B.

Hi Michelle!

I was honestly the most surprised about all of the behind the scenes things. I was 21 when I started my business and naively thought I'd be spending the majority of my time doing makeup. Obviously, I spend a lot of time doing makeup but I spend an equal amount of time emailing, making and or updating contracts, filling makeup orders, inventory, hiring + scheduling artists/stylists, creating new products, trying to respond/update my website/social channels, etc. It keeps me VERY busy but I'm so lucky to be able to have my own business and get to do what I love every single day. I know that isn't everyone's reality so I don't take it for granted!

"A few years ago, I went to a party that you were at with all of your product. Is that still something you do? Id love to have you in my home to meet with my girlfriends! Thanks Morgan Marie!" - Noelle S.

Hi Noelle!

I do try to do pop up shops and in home parties as often as I'm able to! It's a great way for people to see and experience the Morgan Marie line in person. If you're interested in setting something up, please feel free to email me directly at Morgan@MorganMarieBeauty.com

Thanks! xx

"Your website is incredible and looks like its always working. Did you use a web developer or how did you get it going?" - Mary Beth W.

Hi Mary Beth! Thanks so much for your kind words. I actually built it myself. When I first started, I didn't have the budget to hire a developer but knew how important a professional site was so I literally went to my local library and for about 2 weeks studied everything I could about web design. I use a platform called Wix that is also very user friendly and they have a wonderful support team that is always willing to help. There's always room for improvement but for the moment, I'm happy with it too :)

"Hi Morgan Marie! One question I have is about the Mulliganeers. I've seen you post about it every now and then and was wondering if you have a connection to it/what their organization is about? Thank you kindly." - Laura P.

Hi Laura

Thanks so much for this question! The Mulliganeers was started by my dad and 3 of his close friends 2 years after my mom passed away in 1993. It is an incredible organization that has raised almost $6 million dollars and has helped hundreds of local families with sick kids. I'm going to do a more in depth post about the Mulliganeers and what they are all about soon so keep your eyes peeled for that! xx
